As a Project Management Institute Registered Education Provider (PMI R.E.P. #3993), JMC Consulting Ltd. is proud to provide opportunities for Personal Development Unit (PDU) high quality training and development across the globe.
Most recently, from July 22nd to 24th, JMC Consulting held it’s internationally-acclaimed training seminar, MasterClass: Shutdowns & Turnarounds, at the beautiful Radisson Blu Hotel in Cebu, Philippines.
The highly successful seminar, hosted by the training arm of SKF – Philippines, was instructed by STO expert John McLay, (P. Eng., R.E.T., PE (First)), to a full and captive audience of 28 participants and 2 observers. Mr. McLay was thrilled to have the opportunity to present in such a warm and welcoming country, and brought with him over 55 kg of training materials for the eager students.
As part of the training customization, the participants were divided into groups for both a “Question & Answer” period as well as a workshop session in which participants prepared presentations of the various lessons covered in the seminar. This event proved to be one of the highlights of the session, with active participation from all in attendance.
The ‘conference style’ set up of the session meant that all participants were housed at the hotel and offered the opportunity for additional networking and socializing outside of the classroom. The group was thrilled to get to experience the Filipino nightlife of traditional foods and entertainment, including a rousing Karaoke party.
Upon his return to Canada, Mr. McLay was pleased to remark that he found the people and culture of the Philippines to be warm and welcoming, and that he greatly looks forward to the opportunity return in the future.
